Wimbledon 2025

A short weekend in SW19

I got lucky with the Wimbledon Ticket Resales and managed to score a couple of tickets on May 15, 2025. That left me with just over a month to prepare—plenty of time to lock down flights, book an Airbnb, and head across the pond.

Notes on Seat Location

  • Gangway 111, Seat C 1: This is a 3rd-row corner seat right at the very end of the row. It’s positioned to the left and directly across from the Chair Umpire.
  • Gangway 107, Seat C 71: Also a 3rd-row corner seat, sitting 4th from the end on the same side, to the left and across from the Chair Umpire.

Honestly, in my opinion, these are some of the best seats in Center Court.

When the dust settled, the weekend delivered a fun mix of matches.

Saturday’s lineup was definitely a bit lopsided and quick, but that was pretty much expected with Jannik and Novak drawing lower-ranked opponents. Sunday, on the other hand, brought much better, more competitive tennis.

Honestly, I’m not going to complain too much about getting to see both Jannik and Novak on Centre Court on the exact same day, with Iga thrown in as a brilliant bonus.

Then adding Carlos into the mix on Sunday made the whole weekend complete. I have to give credit where it’s due, though—Andrey gave him a genuinely tough fight, and the final scoreline definitely reflected it.

Sunday Lineup

Meeting Wimbledon Royalty: 34 Years in the Queue

If you think your dedication to tennis is hardcore, let me introduce you to my seat neighbor on Sunday: Harry Taylor, a true Wimbledon superfan.

Harry is an absolute legend—he has spent 34 straight years in the Wimbledon queue and is still counting. If anyone knows the inner workings of the championships, it’s him.

He couldn’t have been friendlier or nicer to chat with during the match. He’s even made the rounds in the media for his incredible streak—you can catch one of his interviews featured on Sky News.

Saturday Crowd on the way back

Church Road was absolutely packed after the Saturday matches. The official report said approx 43,000 fans attended that day, and it felt like every single one of them left at once. I guess they wrapped up early, so no one had an excuse to leave before the final ball!
